When you go to CLUB- MY TEAM—scroll the team selection to check your other squads. It's easy to miss this part.

Make sure to check all of your alternate lineups. If the player is still assigned to another lineup, that will block the sale. Also double-check that you’re not using the player in your badge section, as that can prevent the sale from going through as well.

I don't have him in any squad I took his training off and off the team but it is still untatable
