I have both an iPhone and an Android. While it's not extreme, there is an overall slowdown of the app, and there is an increase in the latency between the lobby and PVE/LVL/VSA, which are the local games (unlike H2H and MM), so there should be the same performance. My main device is S25, so it's a beefy phone, and I am on XGSPON fibre with a high-end custom-configured Wi-Fi mesh, so my internet access isn't congested (it's also state-regulated, so service providers do get penalised if it does not perform).
It might be related to your device, the number of apps, space, etc., but it behaves in a similar manner on both of mine. This does suggest server dimensioning. Either way, this has been reported quite some time ago, but there is no update I know of, but it's being worked on (and I just asked as I was chatting about other issues on the go).
Then there is the whole H2H point-to-point and how the game works, where your opponent's device and internet connection also matter. So quite a few pieces of the puzzle where you are in control of one, really, your device and somewhat your internet connection (the gear at home). - c0nfusedthinker8 days agoRising Novice

The increase in the latency around the time of the weekly refresh is normal, as lots of people get the latest files after the weekly update.
There are issues with latency at the moment, but this has nothing to do with IOS or Android, for that matter.
