Why am I so unlucky when opening Gem Packs?

I open so many gem packs but hardly get anything worthwhile. Meanwhile, others frequently pull good items and high-OVR players. It’s really frustrating! I don't know how the "pack possibility" works, but it’s absolutely terrible.
