3rd Anniversary OVR Cap Concerns & Feedback

Dear EA Team,

We are currently in the Numero event, which is the final event of FC Mobile 26, where the highest player OVR is 122 (trainable up to a max of 127).

Naturally, we expected the upcoming 3rd Anniversary event—the very first event of FC Mobile 27—to feature a higher max OVR of 124 (trainable up to a max of 129). However, we were shocked by recent rumors claiming that the OVR cap will remain frozen at 122 (max 127).

This simply shouldn't happen. The 3rd Anniversary is a major milestone, and keeping the OVR locked completely ruins the excitement of starting a brand-new game in FC Mobile 27. Honestly, launching a new season without an OVR increase feels disrespectful to such a massive event and to the player base.

We strongly urge you to raise the base OVR to 124 (max 129) so we can actually enjoy the progression and hype of the new season.

Thank you, and we look forward to a quick official response clarifying whether these rumors are true or false.

  • I don’t disagree, but it appears they surreptitiously nerfed a bunch of older cards in recent days and the issue you raise is probably the reason why.

I’ve noticed a clear drop-off in my squad’s performance starting about 48 hours ago (they feel more sluggish, clumsier, and far less precise in their passing and shooting) and I strongly suspect EA just instituted a massive nerf of older cards in order to clear “headroom” for newer cards. We know they’ve been do this on a rolling basis (since they've opted not to reset at season’s end), but usually it’s more gradual and a lot less obvious. In this instance it feels like my players all suddenly developed a crippling meth habit!

Seems to me all of this calls a huge question (which has always existed, but is now clearly coming to a head) on what player skill statistics even mean anymore. I think it’s the experience of most of us that the stats don’t always correlate to in-game performance (certainly not consistently). For example, I just played a match where a TOTS Yamal (who wasn’t even maxed) dribbled by my maxed UCL Kvaratskelia at full sprint. On paper they are almost dead equal for pace, and the fact that Yamal was dribbling should have clearly given my guy the pace advantage, but this is not how it played out (to my great annoyance!). So, I guess this is a long way of saying that I wouldn’t be surprised if we get new cards that offer no increased OVR, but mysteriously outperform supposedly equal OVR — because I don’t think the numbers mean what they used to. And so long as EA continues with this “no reset” policy, I think we’re going to see the player skill ratings become an increasingly muddled and meaningless set of data points.

  • 1440666fd7e443ec just an observation, is it possible that one of your event related boosts has dropped off in the last few days, which if you had it at a decent level, could have dropped your stats by 10 - 20 points?

I only ask because someone recently posted about their OVR inexplicably dropping, and it was because one of the event shields had become inactive.

I'm not getting into the OVR progression discussion - i had a couple months off because work has been frantic, so i am well behind the curve and could do with some catching up (eek)
