It’s quite clear to anyone who has played more than a couple of FC Mobile matches that, rather than fix matchmaking and their crappy servers EA decided to address persistent lag/latency issues by amping up the AI controlling your players. In at least half of my H2H games I’m arm wrestling it as try to keep my defenders from immediately challenging for the ball. What I mean is that I’m literally directing the virtual control stick in one direction while the code sends him in the OPPOSITE direction. It’s absolutely infuriating, since I’ve gone to the trouble of turning off the defender auto-select function, to not have more control of my players, but that’s EA for you.

So, the same thing is happening on penalties. There’s only fractions of a second between the ball being kicked and when the keeper needs to dive and there’s enough lag in their system (mainly driven by the distance between the players and host server) that they’ve programmed AI to step in and make the keeper dive when your input fails to reach the server in time. It’s stupid. It’s lame. It destroys any sense of a truly competitive match in which the user is really directing the outcome, but EA doesn’t appear to care. They’ve clearly decided the money is to be made peddling new player cards and that’s where they’ve put their focus. The best thing any of us who actually care about playing good football can do is (a) write them a one-star review in the App Store (and get everyone we know to do the same; and (b) don’t spend ANY money on this game.

Hmm - you see, I have terrible lag because of where I am in southern Australia, to the point where h2h is essentially unplayable for me … so, I get that the notion that the keeper input is delayed making it difficult, or that the delay means that the input is missed, but what you describe about the general h2h gameplay is not what I have experienced.

yes the lag is so bad that I struggle to defend because I can’t lay a tackle, and I struggle to score because I can’t get a shot off in time, but I am not constantly fighting the AI to make my players go the direction I want.

The unfortunate reality with H2H is that no matter what they do, the nature of the game means that unless you are playing their AI bots, you are going to be face server lag that is going to ruin the game mode for you.

i essentially can’t play h2h, about the only time it has been playable for me has been when they had dedicated regions (and even then it was only barely playable) or recently when they accidentally set the bots to match make the whole way through to FC champs rather than just in amateur.

It’s the same in FC25, I am just so far away from the nearest servers that the lag I face means that I just can’t react quick enough to be competitive - it’s better than Mobile, but it’s still not really playable unless I hit someone really really bad at the game.

So yeah - the only way that h2h lag is really going to improve is if they put in a lot more servers, in a lot more places … but it’s a free mobile game, which tends to be the little brother to the console version, often just getting the hand-me-downs.

So, if you are only interested in PvP play, clearly this is not the football/soccer game for you at the moment … FC25 is better, but if you have persistent distance lag in mobile, chances are you are going to have some lag issues in console too.

Otherwise, give it bad review and provide your feedback on here that they should prioritise providing more servers in more parts of the world so that more people can experience better PvP play.

The team knows it’s an issue for many players, I complain about it to them all the time, but they can only work within the budget and the remit that they are given, so I consign myself to playing everything but H2H and still enjoy the game.

All that said - send some video of your h2h gameplay, the notion that you are fighting the AI for control of your players in general gameplay intrigues me, because that is not something I experience (and as I said, my lag is horrible)

Search for “My players are completely broken” in the forum and you’ll see the issues I’ve been dealing with (still ongoing, by the way — those incompetent idiots will never listen to players’ feedback about gameplay). It includes the part you’re interested in about fighting the AI for control.
However, since there’s no swipe trail during penalty defense, I can’t record proof of the goalkeeper deliberately diving the wrong way.

Since you avoid PvP mode because of the severe lag, EA absolutely should improve that, but you also need to raise your concerns — even though they’ll probably ignore it. But that might actually be a good thing though, since you won’t run into all the infuriating player-insulting behaviors and trash gameplay mechanics in PvP that would otherwise drive you mad.

Yes mate - I have seen your posts and have been conversing with you on them - I have also spoken to the team multiple times about the lag some of us face because of the parts of the world where we live … the commercial reality though is that they can’t have servers everywhere, so it is what it is.

if you don’t want to play FC Mobile because the only part you like is h2h, then don’t play it … I’ve been where you are right now, it’s not worth the aggravation … the FC Mobile gameplay team are doing everything they can to maximise the gameplay experience on h2h, but there is only so much they can do with the resources/tools they are provided.

I never said I only enjoy playing H2H, so please don't assume things I never said. I’m just someone who loves football. I originally wanted to play matches and enjoy the fun of the game, but later realized that this game can’t provide a fair or proper match experience, so I’ve been focusing on collecting players instead.

As for your claim that the FC Mobile gameplay team is working to fix the issues, I completely disagree. They’ve been ignoring our feedback and suggestions, and even go as far as locking the comments or deleting posts where we state facts about the gameplay.

If you really believe they’re addressing the problems, then how do you explain why some players feel the game is getting worse and why there are so many complaints about gameplay right now?
