Couldn’t agree more. They ought to fire whoever designed this multiverse nonsense. It’s been a mess from Day 1 when EA couldn’t even produce a cogent livestream walkthrough.
The fact that the swapverse is totally random and that folks have gone well over a week without seeing it is ridiculous. But the kicker is that so many users come in here frustrated because it’s not at ALL clear from the event design (or from EA’s rollout of it) that reaching the swapverse is RANDOM! It’s bad enough that EA created a ridiculously convoluted event, but then to fail to explain the mechanics clearly only compounds the frustration for users.
And the cherry on top of this poo sandwich is the Becksverse — which is an absolute farce. Do they think we can’t add? Why would we jump through hoops to pay more for a card we can get loads cheaper in the gallery? Most of us wasted multiple days collecting stupid “curve keys” that are totally useless now (in light of the overpriced Beckverse trade-in). And EA hasn’t even acknowledged how badly they screwed this up let alone fixed it. Either lower the shards required to get the 113 Beckham in his “verse,” or at least give us an option to trade in the worthless keys we collected for something of value.
Honestly, it’s really hard to give EA the benefit of the doubt anymore. The incompetence on display is pretty breathtaking for a multi-million dollar company, and it’s becoming a weekly occurrence. The Japan Nation’s Story event was riddled with errors that never got corrected and then to top it all off the trade-in scheme was a poorly concealed effort to nudge everyone into spending on FC points (otherwise you couldn’t acquire any of the top tier cards). The whole thing was an insult to F2P’s (which is most users!).
And while we’re at it, what about the La Liga Club Challenge where you earn Club Tokens that currently have no use in the game? By all appearances someone turned the Club Challenges back on when the new season began, but forgot to restart the Club Token exchange in the Store. Again, quality control and attention to detail would appear to be lacking, but that doesn’t stop EA turning around and trying to squeeze money out of us.
The bottom line is simple: I would spend money on this game if it provided actual VALUE for that money — namely, through reliable performance and FUN gameplay. Alas, the gameplay is incredibly erratic, the mechanics are broken, and EA just doesn’t seem committed to addressing the fundamental flaws. They keep rolling out new cards in increasingly ill-conceived and error-filled events and hoping we’re all too stupid to notice or care. Personally, I find that insulting, and I don’t pay ANYONE to insult me.
