Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Although, I honestly don’t see a whole lot of difference when I tweak the tactics and so wasn’t getting too bothered about it, lol! For example, when I choose “offside trap” my defence DOES NOT play an offside trap. Not only do my defenders not step forward to play attackers offside, they don’t even keep a straight back line (which is the most important prerequisite of playing a trap). Similarly, if I select max defensive aggression and pressure I still see many times when no one on my team is rushing to prevent a shot from a wide open attacker in my penalty area! It’s absolutely ludicrous.
So, yes, I agree there is a glitch that prevents the tactics from reverting to the presets you selected in the main menu area when you play consecutive matches in a row. BUT I think the far bigger issue is that the controls in manager mode seem to have almost no effect on the simulated gameplay. As far as I’m concerned manager mode is easily the worst Division Rivals mode and I generally don’t bother wasting my time watching the matches (much less adjusting the in-game tactics). I’ve seen no evidence that my active management makes my team perform better and this pretty much defeats the whole purpose of the mode. And it’s a lousy simulation of real football action anyway, Most of the game flow, player positioning, and player choices look very little like a real match. If I had a nickel for every time one of my players failed to shoot while open in the penalty area, or watched an attacker dribble by without making any attempt to stop him, I’d be a rich man indeed! It’s just another example where you scratch your head and ask “does anyone at EA even watch this sport???”
