Passing is frustating

Sometimes whenever I use a normal pass button, the player plays a through ball which I don't want.

And whenever I use a through ball, the player plays a normal pass.

From the video below I pressed the through ball button and it went behind the player even though there is plenty of space ahead of my attacker to put the ball.
