I agree, it a rip-off. But this is what EA does. They say, “Hey, we’re bringing back shards!” And you’re left thinking, “OK, great! I always thought the old system was better than the lousy draft system.” Only, that’s not what they’ve done. This revised draft system with so-called “shards” keeps the meta cards (i.e., the OVR 120 & 119) just as far out of reach as they were under the original draft system. All you have to do is look at the underlying probabilities and the lousy shards exchange rates to see exactly what they’ve done. It’s still just a crappy shell game to try and part the “whales” and the suckers from their money by dangling outrageously costly meta cards. The rest of us (which is to say the vast majority of the FCM community!) are STILL just second-class citizens because there’s no amount of grinding we can do to win a 120. To me, that’s EA slapping all F2Pers in the face. I refuse to be their dupe and I’ll be quitting as soon as the World Cup rolls around if this is the tact they continue to pursue.
