Record Breakers Event

Yeah, it’s straight up horse crap. I’ve played the match four times now with my 118 OVR squad and I can’t top six goals. Which means I can’t even achieve the first prize, let alone the next two. Twelve goals??? What a joke!

First off, they nerf your guys so everything is slower and more sluggish and then you have the opposing keeper play lights out and every time I build a 5-0 lead (which usually isn’t until the second half), then all of sudden the opposition picks up its intensity and I feel like I’m playing a weekend Ultimate Challenge. It’s ri-freakin-donkulous.

A challenge is nice, but what chaps my hide is when they soooo obviously **bleep** your team so that the performance isn’t as quick and crisp as you’re used to. EA just can’t seem to do anything these days without planting its thumb firmly on the scale. They appear to be under the mistaken assumption that if they tie an arm behind the user’s back that we’ll pay them (by buying cards) to “untie” it. It’s as if they think they can insult our intelligence and that we won’t grow angry with them for so obviously trying to manipulate us (all while they make a mockery of the sport we love).

Why was I bleeped? I didn’t use a swear word, lol! I used a synonym of maiming and it got censored. Weird.

Just carried a 7-0 lead into the 89th minute when my defender inexplicably fell down to let in the goal that prevented my winning a prize. Doesn’t matter how I play. The algorithm decides. 🤷‍♂️

Took me NINE tries to finally win the FIRST prize. Twice the algorithm stole a 7-0 lead from me in the final minutes. And in the match where I finally pulled out a 8-0 win I again very nearly had it taken by insanely virtuosic attacks (e.g., players taking on three defenders and coming away with the ball).

Couple more major pet peeves after playing this match soooo many times:

— Your team fatigues rapidly while the RB team is relentless and NEVER tires. That’s patently unfair.

— In addition to Neuer playing like Superman (which I already mentioned), you’ve got guys (like Leao and Iniesta) who are not known as defenders playing really stiff defense — this is NOT AT ALL realistic.

So, yeah, I’m not a fan.  EA has stacked the deck in this event and made what could be a challenging but fun match into an obviously rigged torture test of just how much misery us grinders are willing to stomach. At a time when many of us are already frustrated to tears with EA’s disinterest in fixing broken game mechanics, when they have turned a deaf ear toward easily addressable complaints about the Ultimate Challenge difficulty v payout, this event just creates another point of pain to fuel F2P user anger. Well done, EA. Well done. 👏

Insane challenge, very frustrating!

Game developers design games so that players can enjoy the game and win. In this event, a player with 110 GEN, 108 GEN, or even 115 GEN wouldn't score 7 goals, let alone 12. EA is really being ridiculous; they think all players are 123 GEN. I'm 118 GEN, I won 10-1, but I can't get the 1000 gem reward. Stop this nonsense and make the game accessible to everyone. Very bad

It's worth noting that if you complete the 2nd task you can't go back to the 1st. Good luck getting the kit!

12 goals is only optional. as long as you complete the main one which is 7 goals difference you'll complete the challenge.

Joke of a game from a joke of a company. I eventually managed to get 10 goals and that's me done. Tomorrow will probably be 15 goals needed knowing EA 🤡

Another day, another joke of a challenge.

EA has the fatigue factor cranked up so high that I can’t even get my players through an entire match at the pace required to score 8 goals with the same guy. (And more than 8 is just straight out of the question!) Who are they kidding?

Maybe this challenge works for the P2P crowd with their signature cards, but for us F2P folks (which is most of us!) it’s just another slap in the face. 😔😡
