yearly resets helped keep the game fresh. This perpetual running game is just plain boring. Dud events with nothing to do... 5 to 10 mins a day and done. Bring back grind for rewards.

Sure seems like most everything EA does these days can be explained by the question: Does it keep the “whales” happy? A reset temporarily re-levels the playing field for everyone and wipes out most of the advantages that have accrued to the big spenders. Similarly, the draft system (and now the signings/shards) provides the whales with a pathway (albeit an incredibly expensive one!) to obtain rewards (120 OVR cards) and badges (e.g., level 5 with the +1 OVR bonus) that are unattainable for most users. Thus, EA has created what is, in effect, a tier of FCM “luxury” items that allow the biggest spenders to build squads that are so far superior to the rest of ours that we might as well be playing a different game. It didn’t used to be this way! And I’ll wager that we won’t ever see a return to the old, more egalitarian system. Just like FIFA is gouging fans over World Cup tickets and creating an environment where only the uber wealthy have access, EA is turning FCM into a community of haves and have nots. I, for one, have just about lost patience with it. I resent being treated like a second-class citizen (or a sucker) and I grow weary of EA’s cynicism.
