That resets were discarded for now, based on official communications to date, and if you look at other versions of FCM in Asia, resets have not been done for a while, either with OVRs much higher than the global version.
Personally, I don't think resets would improve much if they come back, especially when you have very few tradeable cards obtainable. The grind can only get you so far. Prefer playing with my favourite icons, knowing I can't get to the top in VSA/MM, rather than going and starting from scratch in an ecosystem designed for P2W, not F2P. There is a lot that can be done to improve the game and experience, but it will depend on whether some of the good and constructive feedback from here and other socials will be taken on board.
