Suggestion: More fun, Less grind.

The actual game is pretty fun, but after 1.5 months (round 2 after a 2 year break), the grind for gems, shards and coins is too much for me to continue chasing again.

Do I play with an obsolete team, ignore the cheese and lose more games? Do I dip into my pockets and spend way more money than I think the game is worth to me? Or do I just uninstall the game again and maybe play for a bit during the next world cup?

I asked, presented and rendered my decision to quit 2 years ago in this forum based on the same issues. The annoyance of the cheese and carrots of the game are the same, so the decision will likely be the same.

Anyway, these are the options that EA presents as I see them. I don't mind spending some money, but I'd have to spend excessive money to buy players I don't want replacing players I do want in order to stay competitive. That's not interesting. I'm stuck at 121 with Baggio, 122 with Pele, can't do anything to afford high level Maradona, Maldini, Ronaldinho, Mbappe, Messi, etc... To buy those cards outright would probably cost several thousand dollars and they  are already nearly obsolete.

Also, make the ball a little brighter. It's hard to see with old eyes. The button placement is also atrocious, it feels like 20% of the playing surface.

Been playing EA Sports games including FIFA since sega genesis... lol... almost 35 years. I have the original EA FIFA cartridge. The sweet spots are still in the same places, it's just the peripheral tasks that have become uninspiring and disenfranchising.

This is my game review. Good luck to all.

  • Same here. 45 Y.O. and it's the worst game I've ever played. And, man, for God's sake don't spend a single penny on that.

  • I’m of the same vintage (first played EA games on Sega Genesis in the mid-90s) and I’m of the same opinion about the state of this franchise. I think it’s fair to say that EA has lost its way. The opportunity is always there to make this game really good and folks in here have made abundantly clear what that would entail, but EA has shown no serious interest in heeding our feedback.
