There has to be a better way to assign squads for div rivals

Thanksb7r4owv30dzg​ - my understanding is that the team is working on a fix for it, but obviously is hitting some sort of snag, otherwise it would be rolled out by now.

i think you are on the money though, the underlying issue does seem to be that if you have a designated league that stays that way irrespective of that mode you are playing and with whatever other line up you have, it won’t properly count towards league rewards.
