Why Did Only Box Icons Get Play Style Upgrades?

Enjoying the play style upgrades but was wondering why only the Icons that were available in the box offers were the ones that got play style upgrades? And the other Icons like Van Basten and Best available in drafts and through shards did not receive any play style upgrades?

Is it because they were box players? Just doesn't seem fair imo. I am enjoying the play style upgrades but seems like a case where the rich get richer because the only users able to get Box Icons were users who spent more than users who got "regular" Icons. 

Can a community advisor or administrator give some insight into the decision?

    MVB is a 120 ovr Ivon card. I'm just saying he deserves the same treatment as the Bix 120 ovr Icons and receive play styles like they did. Van Basten is a 120 card the highest current available ovr and gist 57K in shards. Bad choice nit tk upgrade his card like the other Icons were upgraded.

    only cards with playstyles are usable now... just replace who you have one by one .. patience and dont spend real money

    so your existing cards are redundant, and you can upgrade your team with the only usable cards.. those with playstyles.  those without are now redundant and unusable.   its a transition period, just replace gradually, and hold strong... dont waste real money on this

    Yeah this is such BS. Spent 80k shards on MVB and Best cause those are the two cards I always get and they're complete bad next to Haaland and some random RW
