Any chance you started the quest mate and tried to pass the checkpoint without enough tokens it asks for. I did the same yesterday and the quest ended there for me. Of course, it is an issue if you cant even start the quest or it didn't allow you to progress beyond a point after exit. I tried doing the same (exiting in mid of a quest) but can't replicate at my end.
