I can't access my EA account.
When I link my EA account to log into FC Mobile, it directs me to a brand-new account instead of my own.

What I mean is that you might have linked your account to a different EA account than the one that you're trying to sign in with. It's not so much a case of changing the email address on your EA account, and trying to sign in with other email addresses you might have used in case one of them is linked to the EA account that your progress is on.
So, if I update my email address, will the problem be fixed?

If your account isn't showing the correct progress, is it possible that you had your account linked to a different one? If you have multiple email addresses, I'd recommend trying those in case one of them has the progress that you're looking for.
