Thanks! Make sure you login to the EA app with the correct account that you want to purchase the game on. Once you're logged in, you'll see a search option at the top right of the app. You can search Madden 24 there, and you should see an option to purchase the game.

Once a game is purchased through the EA app directly, it will be automatically added to your game library to download and play, no code required! 

So the app states "You need to redeem a code from your parent or guardian to download a game"

I just don't want to pay the £59.99 to discover that there is no code.

I already had to request a refund from Epic games because I got led down a merry path with not being able to link the Epic and EA apps for a child user.

Gotchya, underage or child's account will work a little differently as they are not able to access the store in the EA app. Instead, you'd need to buy a digital version of the game and redeem the code included with the game to your child's account.

I have now purchased the game using the EA app, by logging into my parent's account and proceeding with downloading.  The game now plays if logged in with my details.  To play on the child's app, I need to enter a code which is supposed to be included in my purchase confirmation email.  However there is no such code.

It is solved now, I went to web chat which was excellent.  Turns out EA app purchases do not supply a code, they only come when purchased from a retailer.  Fortunately the support agent was able to move the game from mine to my son's account.  Thanks for help and pointing me in the right direction.
