I am having the same issues. The game literally just goes to a black screen. Did you find a fix that works??
I’ve done everything possible and it still won’t launch. It says via Epic that the game isn’t refundable. I bought the standard edition. Surely this isn’t the case.
I had the exact same problem, in fact I cancelled my EA sub because of it. Try disabling your antivirus and firewall. It worked for me and I spent 5 days trying all the suggestions even messing with my bios which is crazy they would advise people who may not be qualified, to go in their bios and make changes. Anyway, that worked for me, I hope it works for you.
- @MegumiFushigoroo Nope. No fix, and I'm not that guy who is going to uninstall a whole bunch of stuff to get some game to work. Instead I'll just stop buying EA's games. Maybe take up gardening. But the idea of paying a company to produce a crap product with zero accountability is starting to feel like a class action lawsuit sort of deal.
I had the same error. I have played Madden PC 22&23 on the same computer with no problems. I was so angry and frustrated that I asked for a refund.
- jimmarshall2 years agoSeasoned Ace@Ten16Media it seems to me the anti-cheat is causing alot of problems, juts like it did for Fifa 23 on PC during it's launch last year.
I did what you said, and the game started. Once it got to the picture of the stadium before the beginning of the game, it froze! I didn't have this problem with Madden 23!!!!!!!!!!
Per other messages in this thread - the anti-cheat installation does not fix the issue of anticheat closing but with no error message.
If you need more context of this error Madden 24 is subsequently opening as a background process and then nothing happens after that point.- jjbyrd042 years agoRising Veteran
Yeah sooooo this one....
The "anticheat" software EA has put into the PC version has basically caused the game to fail to launch at all. As soon as you try to open the game you're met with the "Secure boot not enabled on this PC..." message which then proceeds to crash, or rather it doesn't get the chance to crash as it just stops the game from opening altogether.
While there is a method to "fix" this issue by modifying your PC's BIOS to enable "Secure Boot" it's not a guarantee that it will work, as simply enabling "Secure Boot" does not change the "Secure Boot Status" of your PC. It's probable that you'll need to Restore factory keys within the BIOS as well. In addition you'll need to run the game as an administrator and manually reinstall and update the anticheat software by running the installer from within the folder where you installed the game.
And even after all these steps, it's not a guarantee that it will resolve the issue. It worked for me, but my buddy did the same steps and it has not worked for him.
Sorry EA but the players should not have to modify our PC's BIOS due to lack of testing on this kind of stuff. I get that day 1 bugs occur but this should have never slipped through the cracks. Needs fixed yesterday.
The fact I have to change BIOS settings to play a game is bull *
