Pass interference
There’s been an abnormal amount of missed PI calls for me lately. I understand the intricacies that go into it, I beyond the 5 yard line etc. But that’s not the case for me, specifically long developing routes/intermediate areas of the field, beyond the 5 yard line. At the cuts, breaks of the route, my player will get shoved, stoped whilst running, usually right before the throw the ball, and then the player who knocked him off the route stays on track and intercepted. The inconsistency on what the game determines to be PI is severely flawed. In real life there’s a fine line between the amount of contact than can be seen without a PI, but when you’re running a post/corner or even stream route, and a player hits you, quite literally stopping you losing all momentum. It’s almost like that’s the definition of PI. Now there may be a different rule set when in the red zone, when it’s only 5 yards away. I’ll have to check and clarify that. Coding and implementing AI is not rocket science, especially with the development and breakthroughs in recent years or even lately. It would be really nice to see the players move and react accordingly to the rule set, and the in game refs make proper calls. It’s annoying I can go into replay mode slow it down, look at multiple angles, and clearly see whether or not the player is in bounds, but I can’t challenge the play? Officials are in charge, but 1 out of 100, maybe 10 being generous will they review the situation. Clock, score, what side of the field they’re on should all factor in whether or they review it. A 3rd down and 9 completion to get in field goal range to tie, extend lead by two scores, etc are all worthy of consideration. I truly don’t understand why, or why the quality of said implementations are such low quality. Utterly sad.
