Technical Issue vs. Game Bug – Where to post?

Hey, Madden fans! 🎮

We know sometimes it can be tricky figuring out whether you're experiencing a technical issue or a game bug, so here's a quick breakdown to help you post in the right place and help us the CMs and you the players find threads quickly and get them reported more accurately:

If it is a bug, please post it on the Madden NFL Bug Reports. If it is a technical issue, please post it on the Madden NFL Technical boards.

🛠️ Technical Issues

These are problems that affect how Madden runs on your system. They are usually related to your console, PC, or network setup.

Some examples:

The game won’t launch or crash on the startup
Error codes or server connection issues
Freezing or stuttering during gameplay
Black screen or performance drops
Audio/video not working properly
Installation or update problems

These can often be fixed through troubleshooting steps like restarting your console, clearing the cache, reinstalling the game, checking for system updates, etc

🐞 Game Bugs

These happen inside the game itself—something that’s not working the way it’s supposed to, even when your system is running fine.

Some examples:

Challenges not tracking correctly
In-game stats or progression not saving
Players or animations glitching during a match
Incorrect behavior with plays, formations, lineup, or abilities
Missing rewards or broken menu functions

These usually need to be reported and patched by the dev team in a future update.

If the issue seems related to your device or internet, it’s probably a technical issue.
If it looks like something is just not working as intended in the game, it’s probably a bug.

If you are running into a technical issue or a bug, we would ask you to include the following:

EA ID:
Platform:
Which console generation do you have?
What is your Gamertag/PSN ID?
Date/time issue occurred?
What type of issue do you have? Server connection error - Lineup error - dashboarded, etc
Summarize your bug: be as specific as you can on what is happening in your game
Which mode has this happened in?
Which part of the mode?
Have you made any changes to your UT lineup?
Have you generated a new lineup?
