Abilities Missing & Not Working

I have started several franchises, offline and online, and none of the abilities are showing up when I am playing any game during the season. My opponent has their abilities and the are activating properly. At first I though it was only a visual bug, but the abilities for the player who should have them are not activating, so my superstars and X-factor player are regular joes when I play. As far as I can tell, it's only happening in franchise mode.
