Can't use sprint on PC with controller.

Hello! I just got the game yesterday and all 6 hours of my play time so far have been trying to figure out why I cannot sprint. My controller is working just fine (used in different games), I've done plenty of gamepad testing. Also have tried unplugging the keyboard and mouse from the PC and that has not worked. I've tried restarting PC, updating drivers, updating windows, updating controller, launching the game with and without steam input, as well as many different troubleshooting options -- including using a different controller. The bug appears in online and offline so it's not a latency issue. Sadly, I'm already past the point of being able to return the game but it really seems like the majority of the PC players are ignored in the EA patches and I seem to not be the only one experiencing these issues.

I was hoping to gain some insight into other things I could try and figure out before I give up on the game, it's simply unplayable for me at this point. The only redemption is I got it for $20 on steam.
