Hello Everyone,
There are many things that EA needs to do to improve Madden Football, otherwise they could loose 'exclusive NFL rights' and allow 2K Sports to make their own version.
With a file size of only 60 gb compared to the NBA 2k26 being approximately 100 gb, EA is missing lots of opportunity. One can only wonder what else could be a part of the game with 40+ extra gb of content/features.
- Bring back Owner Mode for Franchise - the 'coaching features' or extras are okay, but do add a lot of extra time to running through one year and many glitches, like with the "Rookie OTA" using players that are not Rookies as an example.
- Add expansion team options, even if it just limited to 2 extra teams.
- Allow for editing divisions/conferences for a more expanded options and opportunities.
- One big complaint in gameplay on defensive side is the switching of players on defense - maybe add options to change how & who players are switched to.
- The 'career mode' feels stagnant and needs to be improved.
- Improve on the coach mode itself (maybe borrow from the 'NFL Head Coach' game from years ago) -- have an actual 'coach mode' for games where all you do is call the plays, have to make "in-game decisions" that could affect outcome. Including this feature with online gaming would be cool.
- Could use better features with the "Relocation or Rebuild" options, it was downgraded with Madden 26 for some reason (maybe because owner mode was not included).
- I have also noticed in Franchise Mode - if you put someone on IR, you are not able to remove them from IR when healthy and these player cannot be used at all during that season.
I have been a faithful Madden Football gamer for a very long time, without 'competition' for other football games, it feels like EA has gotten a bit complacent. I understand putting out a new version of a game every year can be tough, but one has to admire how 2K Sports handles the NBA2K series with all the features, granted their online gaming and social features are a big part of the game itself.
