Madden 26 needs better player builds & franchise retirement control
Dear EA Sports Madden Team,
I want to thank you for continuing to develop the Madden franchise and for the improvements you’ve brought to the game year after year. As a long-time player and fan, I’d like to share some constructive feedback regarding Madden 26.
First, regarding created players, the customization system feels very limited in terms of body diversity and realism. Almost every created player, regardless of position, ends up with the same quarterback-like body type. This makes it difficult to create players that reflect the true range of sizes and builds we see across different NFL positions.
Some specific areas that could be improved include:
- Body Proportions: Currently, arm and leg sizes can’t be adjusted. Adding more detailed sliders for limb size and overall build would allow players to create more authentic athletes.
- Weight Representation: A created player listed at 400 pounds doesn’t visually resemble that weight. Larger builds should look proportionate and realistic, especially for linemen.
- Position-Specific Body Types: Different templates for positions (QB, WR, OL, DL, LB, etc.) would go a long way in making created players look unique and true to their role.
Second, in Franchise Mode, player retirements happen far too quickly and often feel unrealistic. In many cases, players retire when they are still playing at a high level. A solution would be to give users more control — either by slowing down retirement rates or by adding an option to prevent or override retirements entirely. This would greatly improve immersion and allow players to build and maintain their franchises in a more natural way.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. I’m excited to see how Madden 26 continues to evolve, and I believe enhancing both created player customization and Franchise Mode would make the game even stronger.
