Abilities not earning XP

Im playing superstar mode and certain abilities across all my modes just will not earn any XP so I can be able to upgrade them. This seems to be the literal only issue nobody has made a fix-it video on but is super problematic. I have 99 trucking on my power HB but I cant get truck elite on gold because its stuck on bronze with 0 XP despite me being two seasons into my game, how do I fix this?
