Trouble playing squads crossplay - not on latest game version

Same here, I’m on PC and my friend is on PS5. This issue is happening with any Online Crossplay gamemode. I can queue up solo fine, so can he, but we can't crossplay.

Important Note: Crossplay was working fine up until the update today, August 28th 2025. Immediately after the update we had issues.

Here’s what we’ve already tried:

• Both of us have latest patch installed.
• Both crossplay settings are enabled.
• We’re added on EA Play.
• I have completely reinstalled on PC.
• We both have cleared our local cache.
• We both forced roster updates.
• And after every change we both restarted the app or console/pc. 

Despite all this, we still get blocked from crossplay with the same error.

It seems like this is a server side issue misreporting the version numbers between PC and PS5 and potentially the other consoles too. Can EA confirm this issue and let us know if a patch is coming for this issue?

So like @EAMaddenNFL @MaddenNFLDirect the game was working just fine up until this update now when I try to play another user in Franchise or a MUT H2H PAF it says we are on different versions of the game? Any fix coming ASAP for this or we gotta sit here and deal with this again for the 5th straight year?

Like I’m really trying to enjoy this game but can’t if we can’t play on PC, Xbox, Or PlayStation… I’m not the only one having this issue…

my friend and i just recently bought madden 26 for the sole purpose of playing against each other. when we try to join each other, madden is giving us an error notification that we are not both on the updated version of the game. wrong!! we are!! ea, i am very frustrated with this, as we have limited time off from our lives to play this game, and have spent a collective $150 just to play. fix this!!!! 

This is a hotfix level game breaking issue! EA needs to sort this out stat for those of us in full online leagues.

Day 2 still nothing…

Hey EA_Kent​ does this include instantly desyncing in squads when queued with a friend? Been having this issue for the last 2 weeks with tons of others here. Both of us on PS5.
