I would like to do this too. I love the look of some of the armour's, like the Cerberus, or Blood Dragon etc, but I hate that I am forced to wear a helmet and hide my Shep's face. Not to mention I usually have my Shepard wear the Sentry Interface.
It is now also very difficult to edit some of the files that one used to be able to edit to make the helmets invisible. Please add a toggle for it, it would be very much appreciated by many people I'm sure.
I read is possible from the squad menu?
However I am not playing the game over the 2hours as I may refund it if they do not fix stuff for the horrible PC port they did.
Anyway try looking in the squad menu should be there.
So un-fkin-believable that they would not even implement such little yet such requested features... Day by day, this becomes "Bare Minimum Effort Edition" instead of a "Legendary" one.
Agree, I just tried Flawless Screen and it works Ultrawide just fine...however EA could not even keep the promise to have it out of the box? Besides is 2021... The guy who looks after Flawless Screen made a fix in hours, EA cannot fix it now nor even commenting on fixes.
I think I will refund it and play the original with mods and buy this when is less than 50%
I boycott any EA game except ME series just because how bad they are, I do not even consider try their games not even for free...and when these things happen I remind myself why.
The only course of action is not supporting them as much as possible.
Shame.
Those particular armor sets weren't designed to be toggled off. Was never like that in the original trilogy either.
Nor were camera angles or combat or inventory or lighting or minigames etc.. etc... That's the whole point of a remaster, else one would stick with the original, well on PC that's is as we can use mods, on consoles players are totally behind on this and stuck with 2007 graphics provided one still has an old consoles as they cannot retro either.
I think the effort behind the remaster has been very low, quick cash grab.
- @Trustdesa I've seen mods by PC. Not that impressive in comparison. Also heard from other PC players that the remaster looks better significantly than most mods. It's also a remaster and not a remake. The concept of difference is loosely understood. All the remasters I've played are hardly any different from the original. Aside from a graphical update and some smoother mechanics.
Well it is very simple go on YouTube, write MASS EFFECT LEGENDARY EDITION vs MODS and then come back here and we can discuss it further as clearly you miss the basics to have a conversation not knowing.
Sure it is marginally better, I would well hope so when modders do not have the chance to use the original uncompressed file and models whilst EA can, marginal <> £54 asking price though, it is not high if the fixes are there, from ultrawide, to no settings, no FOV, bugs... I mean it is a very poor remaster.
And I am a big mass effect fan, that does not mean I let a corporate selling me a bad product.
- @Cliffme1ster ... So this could have been the perfect time to alter it, since many fans don't use those armor sets for this particular reason.
I agree that it's damn stupid to run around like that on hub worlds.
Also, this remake-remaster debate... Yes, it's a remaster, though it had pretty shady marketing from BW. They did not explicitly oversell the tech changes in ME1, but they did not ACTUALLY show them prior to release either.
What they did promise though was "hunderds of bugs fixed", yet all you see here is all the damn well-known glitches still being part of the game.
I think it's pretty clear that BW desperately needs new technical talent in their team. That aspect was always the weakest in their games, and it shows in here as well.
I think it should have been an actual remake project, with longer development times, separately for all games. But as it stands now, a remaster, this should have been at least a major upgrade to UE4, and they could not even do that.

On the specific topic of the thread, I also would like to have the option from the character screen. Several comments have been made about the armors that were never made for helmet removal. I have two comments about that. First, I can't figure out how to do it in ME2 even with the basic N7 armor. I thought that the original had an option to remove the helmet for conversations -- maybe I'm misremembering. Second, for the original version of the games, mods are available that alter several of the other popular armors so that helmet's can be removed. If this has been done by mods, it doesn't seem unreasonable to have expected it for the official remaster.
Regarding the suggestion of a quick cash grab, I don't think that's what is happening, although you might be correct. Apparently most of the effort was spent on graphics, which was necessary, but probably not sufficient.
I think it mostly was an attempt to reboot interest in the series, following on the poor reception of Andromeda, and the hope that people will buy the new game that they have in progress. If that was the goal, I'm not sure that they've accomplished it yet. Interested in seeing what a few patches accomplish. I'm happy with the purchase, but I definitely can see a lot of missed opportunities.
