"It's not creativity these things make it into games, it's marketing and/or someone's fantasy trips." - Allison_X5-734
In Mass Effect Miranda's character is said to be genetically engineered to be perfect, and Miranda specifically says in some game dialogs that her looks are part of that--- which she uses as an asset to take advantage of. So actually showing off Miranda's exceptionally attractive appearance with camera angles that show her butt and that sort of thing is indeed part of her character and the original creative direction of the game. So it's not just about 'marketing' or 'fantasy trips' as you claim.
And frankly, I don't see why it should matter even if it was about fantasy trips or marketing because there's nothing wrong with male players who find a game more enjoyable with an attractive female squadmate like Miranda. Miranda is stunning and unless you have some thing for that part of her, she has many other pretty features which make her attractive, and it's her looks as a whole, not simply her butt. They had an issue going back over the material with that aspect so obviously they felt it detracted having so much focus on one part instead of the whole package, hell I think she has (even with current graphics) a stunning complexion and eyes. Her outfit's cute as hell. Had a modded version I loved for the third game for my Shepard till I broke it moving computers.
To me personally, I tend to tune out the body shots that are too much- obviously Mac Walters can't and it's his prerogative since Mass Effect 2 and 3 were better for their inclusion of Miranda, not for their inclusion of Miranda's butt as her defining trait. Obviously they should lead any romance led lines and/or scenes alone and subsequent focus wherever it lands since they'd have been designed to be sexualized, which they should be.
- @Allison_X5-734 It doesn't matter what you yourself personally think. Again a minority and part of the 10 people only who care about this thing.
Even if you were 100% correct, it will never change the fact that it was still in the original.... so common sense it should be in the remaster. Personally I don't think miranda's butt being shown front and centre in a couple of shots takes anything away from her character, she had plenty of moments that showed her distrust for anything related to her father and her protective attitude towards her sister. She fought well ingame and wasn't afraid to voice her opinion on things throughout the games. The butt scenes are honestly more amusing to me and kind of a meme at this point, more people (in my opinion) would be disappointed with scene changes removing these moments.
As other people have mentioned there are plenty of moments where the guys could be considered 'sexualised' and I wouldnt want them changed either, part of the charm of the game, here is an example.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgiPyMeYzoM
So yeah, i'd prefer original story and cutscenes to stay the same. Besides a few frames of miranda's behind is nothing compared to some of the stuff i see people wearing to the shops these days.

Fortunately CD Projekt Red doesn't see a problem with making quality RPGs with attractive women in them, so you have options there as well. =) - @LaFolia Yeah because they aren't in the usa.
Also already beat their games To be honest its not just about Miranda it's about making these sort of un-necessary changes to the game (again where will they draw the line with this? we don't know yet) and how many of these changes are they going to be making (which is a waste of time) instead of putting their focus into something more important/positive that wont go and upset a large majority of the fanbase. It's not just us, take a look at the backlash. I woke up to 4-5 videos on YouTube with a whole flood of comments basically saying people are going to veto the game because of this kind of negligence. This whole topic is what got me coming here to the forums because it needs to be pointed out and discussed within earshot of Bioware so they can try and mitigate this.
I love mass effect its one of the only games where I actually blindly click preorder because I am that into the series. If there's any hope that Bioware can listen and do something about it before the release I and a huge amount of others would all be very grateful. At least a choice would be nice.
there is an old tale about a Icarus who wanted to fly and touch the sun , he built wings and started flying towards the sun , the tale says that upon reaching the sun his wings burned and he fell down to his doom
in our story :
Icarus = Bioware
Wings = SJW
The Sun = ... Miranda ...
the doom = ME : Remaster sales

‘I do think a lot of things have evolved since [the original games] but I don’t know if I would say we were ultra-concerned about it or anything like that, but there were considerations’, admits Walters. ‘Kevin actually called out some camera cuts that were just… why was that focusing on Miranda’s butt? So in some cases we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change there’.I think people are focusing too much on this specific example and are making it about a single's character's butt, when I believe it's about correcting bad camera positioning in general.
The Mass Effect series has a whole bunch of poorly framed shots and jarring jump cuts, many of those not butt related! I certainly hope that they're cleaning some of that up. Just because they're using that specific Miranda shot as an example (because it's well known and has become something of a meme), people have jumped to the conclusion that they're changing it because BioWare doesn't like butts, and not the more logical assumption that they're changing it because focusing (and lingering) on a character's butt is a very strange choice in a scene where they're going for a very serious tone. It has become a meme exactly because of how out of place it is.
People yelling "censorship" have missed the point. They also don't know what censorship means.

@Allison_X5-734You are really out of touch with reality here.
Miranda is a trophy Ice Queen who melts later and has parent issues... not that complex at all. Morrigan/Bastila is very similar for example.
And Jack as sexual appeal lol.. As a hetero sexual male I wanted nothing more from her to put something to cover her boy-like body with ugly tattoos.
(others already wrote about sexy males so I won't waste my time with that.)
