Well I guess I should throw my complaint into the basket. Just had the same thing happen to me this morning and its just doesn't make any sense. Why is the asset available for purchase if it doesn't work at all? What are they doing? There has been enough reports on this problem for someone at EA and/or boiware to fix this mess. Guess I'll get my refund and uninstall. Shame. I was willing to put money into this game
Me too, made multiple purchase before recognising problem

I am in the same boat. Recently started playing the game after a 3 year hiatus after getting a PS5. Game plays so much better. I than saw all the new content in multiplayer and decided to get a leg up and purchase some Andromeda points. I initially asked EA for help, but was just told they can't do anything, stating that it was all on the Playstation store. I spoke with a very helpful tech at the Sony store and will try the solutions presented to me.
First step. Restore the license on your playstation in the settings menu.
Second step. Deactivate the console, then reactivate the console. Do this by Settings>Account Management> Activate as your Primary PS4/PS5
Once you have done these steps, you can boot up the game and see if the Andromeda points are activated.
The real kicker is that the Playstation rep informed me that if all of this is complete, and it doesn't show up, that it is a PUBLISHER issue not pushing the content over to you.
Side notes:
I run the APEX HQ app on my phone as well, so there is no issue with my account not matching up with EA and my Playstation.
Both the PS4 and PS5 do not have Andromeda points show up.
Andromeda points purchased through the PS5 store on the console (refunded by Sony), and second time through the Sony Website (Still pending)- 5 years ago
Update*
Both purchases refunded by sony.
Would appear EA doesn't support the game anymore as far as in game purchases. The only thing that is able to be purchased on the site, is the game itself.
https://www.ea.com/games/mass-effect/mass-effect-andromeda/buy
Andromeda points are not present on the buy now at all.
Buyers Beware, least you go through the hoop jumping fun of getting a refund.

I’ve had the same issue. I contacted PlayStation network and they told me they couldn’t do anything and to contact EA. I contacted EA and they admitted it’s a problem they are having and would address it and to check back with them in a week or 2. After waiting a few weeks a contacted EA again where I was told that it was now not an issue on their end and that it was a PlayStation issue with is obviously bulls*it because the first time I contacted Them
they told me they were looking into resolving this issue. After contacting PlayStation for a refund they said sorry, and there is nothing they can do because it’s been 14 days since the purchase. EA was at fault and because of their nonsense I lost out, and PlayStation won’t give me any credit to my account or even a month of ps plus added to my subscription due to them having a product in their store that is glitched \ bugged and doesn’t work. They allow you to buy something bugged and won’t refund you for it. This is complete BS!!!
Others have had this issue. The first time I contacted PlayStation they realized there was a problem and the second time almost 2 months later i was told by them that the credits did go to my account when I received nothing, and after explaining this to a supervisor at PlayStation customer service they just closed the live chat with me and ended the session. The supervisor said sorry and instead of finding a solution, my concern about something that went wrong in their store was just closed. Terrible customer service from both EA and PlayStation!!

It's an obvious scam they're aware of but figure no one will go through the court process to get the money back. There is a way to get the money back. You can pay with PayPal and dispute the charges. I found it odd Playstation never fights back against this process. Right up until I found out there's a good reason for it. They simply ban your account and lock you out of ALL your purchased games like absolute f wits. They have been aware of the scam since 2017 and know they can get away with it. It's too expensive to combat in court and if you do find a way around they will take your *. They could still legally block your account even if you did win in court. It's really a disgusting scam but who's gonna stop them?
