Hey, I play on 32:9 and have managed to make it "work". I Flawless Widescreen and enabled UI scaling, make sure constrain to 16:9 is enabled. This will cause the game to treat the UI as if it is on a 16:9 monitor while the rest of the game is unimpeded. Hopefully that will help.

Question for you! Please see my latest reply, just above your post. When you use the software (FWS) to constrain the HUD/UI to 16:9, does it completely screw up the placement of your enemy's hitboxes? Like, the red "square" that goes around whichever enemy your crosshair is on.
When I do, it fixes the over-sized HUD problem, but makes it so this that red enemy outline/hitbox/reticle is FAR off from the actual enemy itself. That's what I mean by un-playable. ☹️ So I either deal with a huge HUD for *some* reason (the original purpose of this whole thread), or I can fix the HUD/UI, but can't properly target enemies in combat worth a damn.
Damned if I do, damned if I don't situation. =\ Hope this is fixed soon. I know it's just a HUD/UI thing, but it's making me put off playing the entire game... ☹️

It indeed replaces some of the "hitboxes" for me as well.
But you still will hit the enemy if you aim correctly at the enemy, regardless of Weapon or Power.
I however play with K&M, so this might be different if you play with a controller.

Yep. Also play on Keyboard/Mouse. Powers will still go where your crosshair is, for sure. It's just very jarring/annoying thinking an enemy is behind a box way off to the right... when he's shooting at you way off from the left, ya know?
=( I'd honestly almost deal with a bigger annoying HUD than wrong/false hitboxes/reticles.
