BUG: Mass Effect 2 several cutscenes abruptly end, e.g. Kasumi Loyalty Mission

Hey guys,

I've been observing this issue in Mass Effect 2 a lot since I dived into it some days ago. There are many cutscenes in this game, where voicelines / scenes abruptly end.

I will double check this in the English version too, since I'm testing the GERMAN localization of the game. This completely destroys the atmosphere and surely kills some minor / important details of the lore.

In the main game there were only a few of this during conversations. But the most significant issues I had with the Kasumi Loyalty Mission. When you talk to the antagonist at the start or on later occasions, this happens so freakingly often.

I know from Dragon Age Inquisition that it happens there as well - just at the beginning of the game during the interrogation of the player.

Hope there will be a fix for this.

Regards.

    Really weird, I have never experienced this, and I've played both games on two platforms on multiple occasions, (except for PC ME2LE, it is only my first playthrough for that one) - though for DAI it was Win7 continued on Win8.1, then tested on Win10, and another character on Xbox One continued on Xbox One X, then tested on Xbox Series X after the fps boost, so quite an extensive test, lol.

    Do you play both of these games in German?

  • Thanks for your response @felker_s. Yes, on my first playthrough I used the German language. Gonna double check it on my 2nd playthrough in English.
    I figure the used voicelines in German were just too long or something, so the cut kinda happend. It's really sad that it happens several times all over the game, which is overall so well crafted.

    Sidenote: I just checked it on Dragon Age Inquisition. And after switching it to English voice language, the particular scene I've encountered, worked fine.

    @Normandy-Hitchie

    Sadly, this really does seem to be a problem stemming from a different localisation. Which is a bummer, since if that is the case, then no fix should be expected.

    I haven't got many hits on Google while searching for this, but some comments here and there mention that the German version (and basically anything other than English) suffers from various bugs and issues that have been present even in the original editions.
