I was hoping this was a weird one-off bug, but it happens consistently on Xbox One at least. It looks ridiculous.
Here's a video of what the issue looks like. Note the Thresher Maw emerges facing the wrong direction (the direction it was facing previously).
Here's a video of what it looks like in the original game. In the original it always emerges facing the playable area.
