Can we mod the iconic 'N7' Onyx armor to be actually useful?

Just wondering if there is a way to mod the iconi Onyx armor so its stats are on par with Predator or Colossus armor?

Or is there a way to swap textures so that the Predator/Colossus looks like Onyx

To be fair, I equipped it on Insanity just because I like it (and for the final cheesy poster pose, lol), and I didn't feel like I was at any disadvantage. ME1 on Insanity is... Insanely easy.
