i'm not really into mass effect's multiplayer... mainly because it seems to be centered around punishing players who don't use micro-transactions. and in me3 galactic readiness was quite noticeable in single-player, but could only be affected in multiplayer... i just find that immersion breaking and unacceptable, and in andromeda that side of it has actually been improved, but it's still kind of there and a bit annoying.

the entire reason i was posting and i forgot, lol
noting the paragraph i've written above, i still tryed to give MEA's multiplayer a try, however several disconnects from the lobby, and even trying to join a game or two, followed by a few crashes i decided i wouldn't humor this anymore, as i'm not all that interested to begin with.
I've played ME3 multiplayer since the sneak preview. Never spent a single penny on microtransactions. The currency you spend in the multiplayer store is earned by playing in multiplayer. It did have an option to pay in Bioware points, but it was only for those with more cash than patience. Completely unnecessary. Of course the Store Gods were capricious and petty creatures, and would often give me everything else other than what I was hoping to get out of a pack. It's less a direct purchase and more like a scratch off ticket with varying odds on certain results.
That hasn't changed in MEA MP. You still earn in-game credit currency for missions in multiplayer, and you use it in the in-game store for a chance at better multiplayer goods (weapons, gear/boosters, character cards) - but permanent gear is a straight up use of mission funds earned by APEX strike teams/missions. The Store Gods seem a bit kinder now though for some things. There are only a couple ultra rare characters I'm missing. My common, uncommon and rare characters are at rank X. I've got some of the rarer weapons, but dislike most of them.
Match connections still seem the same. On client hosting means that the connection of all the party members affects game play.
EDIT: Edited a perfectly benign word that is apparently on the forum systems 'naughty word' list 🤭
I say NO to peer to peer MP, why? Because I'm on a CGNAT connection. With p2p MP the game will render me as having a "Strict NAT" like with most Ubisoft multiplayer games, so I tend to stay away from them.
