Can't Recruit Samara After Shadow Broker DLC

 During a 3rd playthrough, having started w/ Mass Effect 1, I was unable to recruit Samara having completed the Shadow Broker DLC missions first; I hadn't asked Liara about Samara and now Liara is the Shadow Broker, unable to send me to meet Samara. As you can imagine this was very frustrating, having completed most of the game, with the intended purpose of having enough Charisma/Renegade points to later recruit Samara's daughter, having never done so before in my earlier paythroughs. 
Now that EA/Bioware has issued a "trilogy" edition of ME, I'm wondering if this bug has been addressed and fixed. 
In other words, if I bought the new trilogy, could I load my saved game and now be able to recruit Samara, the Justicar?

If this issue has been fixed, can I access Samara's location/missions from Liara's computer on Illium?

    As far as I know, they never fixed it. You can add Samara to your squad by using the save editor (PC and 360 only), but then you skip the recruitment mission.

    Why can't bioware/EA just release an Update to fix this problem that so many people are having. I'm going to send them an e-mail about this because every other method i've used seems to have concluded in complete failure ☹️ I'm just glad I was able to recruit thane. Why can't they just make the computer work?

    How do you do this? i've done the recruitment mission before so i dont mind missing it, but i would like to have a full squad (I play on 360)
