Just finished playing through the original trilogy twice. The extended ending definitely makes it a little easier to take. I wonder though, if the final battle took place in 2186(7?) and ideally the green synthesis ending was completed (or even the blue control ending), wouldn't the people in the Milky Way be vastly more advanced technologically by the time the Andromeda initiative got to their destination? It is 630+ years later. More than enough time to rebuild the Mass Effect relays, clean up all the destruction, and take some advantage of the millions of years of knowledge the Reapers had accumulated. What if the people in the Milky Way discover how to travel to other galaxies 10x (or any multiple really) faster than what the ships of the Andromeda fleet could obtain? wormholes, folding space, who knows.. Wouldn't they want to know what happened to the Andromeda fleet? Maybe not more colony ships, but at least a small exploration fleet. Hmm.. the possibilities.

When a i've played Mass Effect Trilogy, i choose every time the destruction of Reapers, the only good ending for me. But lots of players prefer assimilation for save Geth and IDA, or control because for they, that the better ending. It's impossible to do a Mass Effect 4 where Bioware says: "That's the canon-ending of Mass Effect Trilogy, deal with it!" And it's impossible to do 3 differents games for different ending! (With just one like ME Andromeda, it's complicated, with 3... :eahigh_file: )

Ah Yes the milky way all signs have already dismissed the contiuned existence of the milky way this theortical survival people keep insisting on seems based on the inability to move on Andromeda is a new start the milky way will not be revisited hopefully that saga is finished let it be done

Yeah and apparently they got delayed because they were bringing other races as well like the Drell. I suppose this was BW's way of neither including nor excluding any options for the future. the most likely theory i suppose.

It could go a lot of ways.

It is also possible that the "new" peace lasted a couple hundred years and then they all got serious about wiping each other out.

Wrex won't live forever, and without the genophage Krogans will multiply exponentially (X1000/year). This time they're even more advanced too.

Well no reason for the milky folks to travel to andromeda now that the reapers are defeated/controlled/assimilated... Also dont think Bioware wants to decide on a canon ending.

Maybe Andromeda travelled to the Milky Way. The whole Haestrom dark energy thing they never did anything with in the original series could of been the beginnings of the scourge.

That would be an interesting twist though - that the scourge was/is designed to kill sentient machines, like the Reapers or the Geth, and was just beginning to manifest in Geth space. Choosing synthesis would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire and doom the entire Milky Way galaxy to extinction beyond even what the Reapers would do.

If they continue with the storyline I do see us having to make some future decision where we either have to fully unite with SAM or choose death.

Judging from the missing Ark signal we received, I wouldn't be surprised if they were followed by a Reaper or two. Ship is probably full of face-chewing husks by now. I'm curious how they managed to pull off the entire venture without the Reapers indoctrinated folks learning about it, especially given what happens to TIM. Only other thing I could think of is another galaxy is outside the "programming" or experiment guidelines of the harvest and ignored. Hope we learn more. 🙂

I understand their initial reluctance to include the Quarians in a new galaxy where AI implants are taken for granted as a 'good thing'. I really hope we have a non-major race pathfinder in the lot. Elcor, Volus, Drell, Hanar... something.

Having the scourge be an anti-sentient machine thing would clean it up no matter what ending you chose if it also likes to snack on QE communications.
