Did I romance Suvi "too late"?

Soo, I'm pretty new here, and I don't know if it fits here, but let's go on for now.

So I started playing Mass Effect Andromeda as a female Ryder, and as I got my crew together, I just didn't knew who to romance. I played a few missions and avoided in the dialogue to choose the "Heart"-Dialogue-Option just to make sure that every option stays available for me.

As time went on, I decided to romance Suvi. Notice that this wasn't right at the beginning of meeting her, but later on when I was already for a long time on the crew with her. It was around the time when I finished my Quests on Voeld and I didn't play too much of main story anyway.

So everytime I came from a mission back to the ship, I first talked to her (since she's so close you know, isn't really that hard) and already took all the romance options I've head available for her. Now, yesterday I've encountered a problem:

Everytime I talked to Suvi, I've had no romance dialogue option available for her, just the standard Talking Options. However, I thought I would've had her already, since the Greeting Dialogue has changed and became more personal.

However, as I finished the "Hunting the Archon"-Mission and Suvi invites me for a tea break in my personal quarters (wtf), I didn't got the option to kiss her. I replayed this scene, to look if there was a bug avoiding it, but nope. Nothing. And when I went back to her on the ship after the tea break, it was a normal conversation with no romance dialogue options either.

So, did I f*cked it up? Did I hesitated too long so the Romance Option went stuck or even unavailable for me?

I remember that Peebee was trying to date me and even invited me for a fling in the rescue pod, but I always stayed on "no bindings", so no relationship. And as she asked me through Poc while she was gone, I turned her down, saying we should just stay friends. So I shouldn't be locked on her, should I?

Please, someone help. I don't want a lonely lesbian Ryder to hang around in Space all alone ☹️

  • The thing with the romances in any Mass Effect is that you have to choose early one who you wanna romance and continue the interactions all along the game. Skipping a romance dialogue in the early stages might make you miss the whole romance at the end

Now that you know the game you might want to start a new playthrough to romance her.

Aye, that's why I said "Might".

The original trilogy doesn't have "romantinc cues" in the dialogues,  so they're confusing and you might end up romancing the wrong person by accident (In my first playthroughs I had to reject Alenko and be neutral or even rude to Ashley sometimes to get them off my back).A dialogue you thought was just meant to be friendly could be the initiation of the romance.

And in my experience in ME:A, it's better to make up your mind since the beginning. Trying to start a romantic relatiionship with a character you initially "ignored" can be hard or even impossible depending on the stage of the game you're in.

  • @5nake_94 I had a thought as well, I think Suvi needs you to be commited. IE, if you accidentally (or on purpose) flirt with Liam or Peebee, for example, she loses interest.
