[EA app] Mass Effect Legendary Edition Save Error

please help me find a solution. i downloaded mass effect legendary edition. the game loads and plays fine, however i get an immediate error:

"a problem occurred while saving the game. no game session data was preserved. please try again.” i am unable to save and the game cannot autosave.

i have already tried the following:
- repair the game via ea app

- uninstall, reinstall
-launched as administrator from the documents folder

-cleared cache in the ea app

-disabled all firewalls, security, and controlled access folder

-onedrive is not running
-i have plenty of space on my drive

-i have tried playing on both my external drive and internal drive (game works on either, but save error still occurs)

i am not super tech savvy, so i appreciate step-by-step instructions. any advice offered would be appreciated. thank you!

This is most probably a permissions problem.

Try to run the game as an Administrator (Right click the game shortcut or the game exe > Run as administrator.)

    If that doesn't help:

The standard save path is "C:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Bioware\Mass Effect Legendary Edition\Save\"

Is this path present on your system?

If not, do you use onedrive?

Hello and thank you for advice. I have tried running as administrator and I do not use Onedrive. However there is no save path I can find either.

Yes I do have a Bioware folder under documents, but the only game files I see are DragonAge Veilguard.

It seems the game can't access this folder.

    Repair the game.

(Origin: Game Library > Right-click the game cover > Repair)
(EA app: My Collection > Click on the three dots on the game cover > Repair)
(Steam: Game Library > Right-click the game > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.)

    If that fails:

Try to run EA app and the game as Administrator.

    If that fails:

Press the Windows key and "X" at the same time > Click on "Command prompt (Administrator)", "PowerShell (Administrator)" or Terminal (Administrator).
    (OS specific differences.)

    • In the CMD, PowerShell or Terminal window, at the prompt type or copy and past:  takeown /f "xxxxxxxxxxxx" /r (With the quotes)
      (Replace
the X with the full path to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\Documents" folder, the quotation marks need to stay in.)

    • hit ENTER
You should get a success message.

    • Restart the PC > Test
