Failure to Fix Conrad Verner in ME2

No matter how you responded to Conrad's idea of being made a spectre in ME1, when you run into him again in ME2 he talks like you took the renegade option. The paragon option exists in the game's code and can even be found on youtube, but you can't actually trigger it in game. A fix for this in the Legendary Edition would be nice.

Which I think is pretty lazy. Instead of fixing a simple bug and slightly modifying ME3's dialogue, they decided that a bug is "canon".

@felker_s I wouldn't call it "lazy". Just odd.

Look at it this way. Fixing the bug would entail Changing a single BOOL flag. Which just amounts to changing a "1" to a "0". Simplicity itself. However, instead of fixing it, they decided to write an entirely new scene, with new animations, new dialog, and all that? It's totally PSYCHOTIC and makes no sense at all... but hardly lazy.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. If you look at the save files in an editor, there are two flags: One for the paragon, and one for the renegade line. If you took the renegade path, the renegade box will be ticked. If you took the paragon path, both he paragon and renegade boxes will be ticked. (So the bug already originated in how the choice was flagged in ME1.)

They can either fix the plot flag in ME1 or change the logic with how the flags are read in ME2. Either way, it should be quite easy. The modding community figured it out years ago.

I haven't seen that they fixed a single plot bug anywhere in the trilogy.

Doesn't really have anything to do with being "canon" or not.

As far as I've seen, there have been NO plot bugs fixed at all. Everything fixed seems to be all cosmetic. I'm seeing a lot of cosmetic changes and corrections, but every bug related to game logic still remains.  And the majority of those "cosmetic" changes were in ME1.

@PsychotpsThey did that in the original Mass Effect 3. So basically it was a natural part of development. It was almost funny, a nod to their past mistake.

However, in case of MELE, it's just laziness that they thought it's okay to leave it like that.

I know I sound salty in a lot of my comments, but it's because of things that you also mentioned in your previous comment - they basically left every damn bug in this edition. Add the fact that the available options are incredibly limited on all platforms. Then add the fact that I personally think the visual updates feel like the lowest possible effort... I dunno, I love ME, and I love playing it on my XSX with 60 fps, but come on, this could have been so much more.
