Final mission disappointing ending[spoilers]

Was anyone else disappointed by how the final mission ended? At first we got this epic large scale battle involving several colonies on Meridian. My jaws dropped during my ride to the Archon when I saw the Hyperion dropping from the sky. I was so pumped to fight the Archon, especially since I got bored of how easy and predictable the enemies in the game are. But instead, we had to fight a bunch of remnants and an Architect and hold a button at an interface to kill the Archon. I hate QTE, but this is one major downer. I'm no masochist, but the ending on Insanity was super easy and it didn't give me the satisfaction of taking down the Archon as much as I wanted.

I thought the fight to free the krogen from the ship was harder and that was mid way through.

  • @taglag45 Thing is, after that * he pulled with exaltation I wanted to kick his *. But alright, horde mode is cool but at least let there be some more interaction with the actual villain like a dialogue in ME3 with that kid and TIM. All the Archon said before the fight was something like "puny humans are just pretenders" or "I will give life or death" and after horde mode you just push the kill switch. There was barely any interaction with the supposedly main villain like more dialogue. A huge chunk of the story is just a copy of ME2 (except they don't exalt but turn them into goo) but that game had a good final execution. I'm criticizing Andromeda because there is none.

I definitely found the end of the Archon unsatisfying.  As others have pointed out, this guy did too much and he seems to get off easy.  Then when you talk to people, you find out that he died cause of some technical stuff and wouldn't have died due to his injuries or something like that?

No.  I wanted his loss and him losing to be because of me and I wanted him to know it.  So even if the first can be seen as true, I didn't feel the second thing was true at all.

I kind of felt cheated honestly.

I just finished that quest today finally, and I feel the same way. The way the Archon was very Harbinger-like: taunting, grandstanding, etc. But, the Archon was an actual "person", so I thought a fight between my crew and him was imminent. Here's how I think it should've went down.

You sever the Archon's connection to the Remnant and he falls. You then rush over to your twin to see if he/she is ok. You try to rescue your twin only to find out that the Archon is still alive, blasting you away, and seriously harming your twin. He then states that it is too late and he is now more powerful than ever. He summons a couple of Ascended to fight you and your crew. Having had access to your connection with SAM and hacking into your neurolink, he tries to confuse you throughout the fight by randomly switching your profiles. No matter what you do, you can't seem to win. That's when SAM reverses the link and starts to shut down the Archon. After a long, gruesome battle, you and your crew stand victorious as you pull out your pistol to execute the Archon. That's when he reveals that he is one but many, and that the whole Kett race will declare war on the cluster. SAM reveals that he is able to extract some Kett fleet numbers/tactics from the Archon. You are given a choice to either hold him prisoner for SAM to extract any data or execute him on the spot, not trusting that having him anywhere near the Hyperion or Nexus would be a good idea. After making your choice, you rush to your twin's side yet again, only to see that he/she is nearly dead from helping to control the Remnant during your fight. You think all hope is lost, and SAM does the unthinkable. He states that although he regrets having to leave you, he feels his work is done and is confident that you will lead all of the races on the correct path. Despite your protests, he is willing to sacrifice himself to save your twin by repairing his/her brain.
