Getting my Xbox 360 DLC onto my PC: The Tragedy of a Mess

Continue sitting, grab a drink and a snack. This is a tale.

A long, long time ago, (3 years ago) my house was robbed. My family lost a lot of the little expensive things, like every game console in the place. 2 PS3's, my DS, and my Xbox 360. A month or three into my prepaid 1 year Xbox Live. And my little, yet powerful game collection (most notably ME2 when it was brand new, barely my second race-through). I went many months without an Xbox of my own, until my parents surprised me with a sturdy Xbox Elite, a week after my wisdom teeth were removed. The 120GB made me weep in joy. I repurchased ME2, and played my games offline, as I'm a fan of single-player experiences. My game collection eventually built back up, and about a few months after ME3 came out, I discovered the joys of DLC. I began assembling my collection for the Mass Effect series and the equally amazing Dragon Age series. I finished a few weeks ago. Done. I have everything.

I then received a gift that has brought me to this forum.

An Origin sale over Spring Break lead me to purchase the ME trilogy for PC. I hadn't started it on my desktop until today, and I'm blown away by the difference in everything between the two console versions. That is why I embarked on a quest to discover if and how I could transfer my DLC over to my PC, saving myself untold mental cost and walletbreak. With a few threads supporting my thought, I went to the Bioware site for the answer. There I arrived to find my Bioware account, while accurately synced with my Origin purchases, had not registered my massive DLC gains from my new Xbox.

Why? How could this be?

Well, I realized then that I had never re-logged back onto my account from my first Xbox 360. I hadn't had any significant digital purchases there, so never felt the need to reclaim it. I have spent the last hour searching for a way to switch the sync from my past gamertag to the new one, to no avail. I even attempted to delete my past account, hoping that would help, but the internet 'tis a cruel mistress, and informed me very slowly and annoyingly that Microsoft is experiencing Xbox Live account trouble. Quite confusing to me, and possibly beyond assistance anyway, because my Live ran out a few days ago.

So I came here, hoping for someone, anyone to help me in my Crusade for my lost DLC. I'm afraid I won't be able to fully enjoy my ME series playthrough if I cannot access my now-much needed DLC.

Help me, EA forum browsers. You're my only hope.

  • For account related issues you have to contact EA support: https://help.ea.com/

Although DLC can not be transfered between platforms, you have to buy it new on each.

So? Again, DLC is normally not available across platforms. If you find a game advisor who authorizes the DLC to you PC account in Origin again individually, that's entirely their goodwill, you're not entitled to it. As can by seen in the example of the other pretty impudent guy.

Anyway, you'll have to contact EA support for this, this here is User-to-user support, we cannot help you with account related issues.

Well, thanks, I guess. Sorry if I came across as "impudent". I was just looking for information, and the Bioware help site pointed over to EA. Wasn't aware the help was segregated.

I didn't mean you with this, sorry if it came across wrong. I meant this "angrytigerp" guy from the link you gave.

Good luck with the support, it can really depend on who you're talking to (I usually choose "live chat" - for that you may have to change you country to "United States" at the bottom of the linked help page I gave in order for it to become available). For instance I got a game advisor to activate my ME1 code on Origin although I only have a physical copy that doesn't have a code that could be used in Origin.
