Getting Salarian culture codex on Virmire in ME1

What do you mean? It is still the same, even the guide you linked says so. ("Hack an antenna in the Salarian base on Virmire (need Decryption on Shepard").

For the original release it's the same, but for MELE it's been updated at least according to the following posts.

The Salarian Culture codex entry in ME1; do you still need Decryption in ME:LE?

Have the codex entries in the Salarian camp on Virmire been made available to all classes?

They don't say where it's been moved, so it's not something I can easily test at them moment.

Only one of those sources say that it is now automatically unlocked during the story (though it does not specify where).

Neverheless, the radio tower is still there and it still unlocks the Codex Entry, and I've played with an Infiltrator, so I don't have any personal input on this story-related unlock.

Loaded a save and saw that too. I'm going to reload and not unlock it before doing the mission to see if the codex opens elsewhere.
