Hide the skip notification in Galaxy Map?

Hi All,

Come back around for a second playthrough of MEA, and one thing is bugging the hell out of me. I'm glad that they added a skip option to galaxy travel, but is there any way to hide the "press [Tab] to skip" notification from the UI? Mod, ini tweak, anything?

To be clear, I want to retain the feature. I just don't want this stupid bit of GUI fluff ruining my appreciation of the spectacle while I'm exploring. Skipping is good for when you've already been someplace, but the first time I go anywhere I want to appreciate the majesty of Helius, etc etc.

Thoughts?

  • There's no in-game option for this and unfortunately I haven't found a mod that does this either.

Yeah, I don't know of any way to do that. Personally it doesn't bother me cause last time I played I used it all the time.

It'd have to be some sort of mod though cause BioWare aren't likely to do anything for the SP game anymore. at all. ever. Well, you get the point.

This might be a site to keep an eye on https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffectandromeda

  • Thanks to you both, Fred and Ego. 🙂

I'm very familiar with Nexus from all my time with Bethesda RPGs, and I've found a couple good ones for MEA on there. The "Shut up, SAM" mod in particular is such a relief that I'm considering giving the author a few bucks.

@ArchangelM127 I use some quality of life mods myself, including the one you mentioned. Here are some other great ones:

Shorter Landing and Departure Cinematics - The game forces you to watch the loading cinematics in full, even when it's done loading in the background. This mod makes them shorter so you can start playing more quickly.

Skip BioWare Logo - This allows the game to go straight to the main menu when you launch it. No pointless logo. We already know who made the game by now.

Faster Kadara Doors - I don't know why Kadara's doors take 10 seconds to open, but this mod rectifies that.

Especially on the snow planet with all the heat lamps.

Sam: "Pathfinder, it's cold. Now it's warm again. Pathfinder, it's... Temperatures back in normal range."

Drack: "I got this cool story to tell of the krogan rebellion. We were..."

    Sam: "Pathfinder, it's cold."

  • Seriously. They got so much right with this game, but little things like that were really neglected. That and quest dependency/alignment. I just went back and improved the hell out of Eos after going through Voeld, then went and did the Moshae rescue. I come onto my bridge to see Calo and Suvie talking about how we should to back to Eos. Almost put my head through my desk.
