How do you get the new Mass Effect 3 patch?

Do you just go to marketplace and download it or does it come up when you start the game, in the update available etc. window?

  • That's what I figured when I saw "marketplace". 😕mileywink:

"On X360 and PS3, you will be prompted to update your software, just confirm and wait for it to complete. On PC you will need to install the patch through Origin before you launch Mass Effect 3. Wait for it to complete installation before playing."

  • For PC:

    1. Open Origin.
    2. Right click the ME3 icon to bring up the menu.
    3. Select "Check for Update".

Haven't played on the other platforms, but I always got the impression they downloaded automatically when you started the game.

    when the patch won't download?

Blah, blah, download V 1.06... Click "OK"... Screen goes black.. PS3's something-went-wrong triple beep.. Shortly thereafter PS3 restarts with no update installed.

Jeez, thank you!  Origins is not user friendly.  It's not like the right-clicking is hard, but would it be too much for there to be instructions somewhere?

    For PS3:

Disable the Media Server Connection and try again. That helped me with a similar issue. To do that go to Settings, then Network Settings, and then select Media Server Connection. You can disable the connection from there.

    For PC:

Check your settings (Origin --> Applications Settings). You should be able to tick the box for "Automatically keep my games up to date" - you may have to scroll down to find this, it's the second from the bottom.

And I just found out that if you RIGHT CLICK on the game in origin, it brings up a menu that has "update game" in the list.
