What the? I already play games where i don't get to be as invested in the chara - with dragon age. I really didn't want ME to also take that direction. Its a bad direction. I don't want the Ryder's as NPCs or afterthoughts in following games - i want to keep with them long enough to get to know them and their crew better and feel invested in them.Well, they can always change their mind I guess, but it's something that's been the case for Dragon Age already. Personally I find it the lesser choice because you do not grow with your characters throughout the story. I'm having trouble myself explaining why they came out and basically stated that this was not going to be another trilogy like the original, but then again, who knows how they can spin that later on.
They also added that it was supposed to be a full story that basically ended within this game, but after playing through it, it feels anything but a finished story. There's still too much open. What about the Ryder family secret? What about the Jardaal? What about the Kett Empire that the Archon only represented a small portion of?
There is just a lot unfinished stuff still and it makes little sense compared to their comments.
I agree with it being the lesser choice.
EG. From my standpoint although I enjoy the DA games i dont get so excited about a new one like i did with me1 - 3. I don't feel the need to pre- order da because these is no chars to 'get back to'. I wait till my next bday - xmas - whatever and put it on my list. When I knew i was going back to Shep i got excited - must have asap excited - we pre-ordered. Pre- ordered andromeda expecting to have that same feel again over the next games, but looks like they might not☹️
No trilogy also means that they could leave it open ended and they could just keep coming out with sequels.

They could do that anyway so long as they don't pull an ME3 ending that basically closed the doors on that happening in the milky way.
Like go for an actual video game ending of an epic battle, not blue, green, red.
Ryders could get a trilogy in androomeda leading up to some big battle. Next could also be in andromeda with diff chars etc.
Could have happened in Me3 if we got to actually fight win against the reapers and not pull some crucible thing.

i just hope they're not too lazy too pull that off... though i do hope they'd prove me wrong, or at least try.

Or it could be the introduction of the upcoming Mass Effect MMO with the Kett Empire and the Scourge as the continued threats to the universe. I think a few years ago I would've been looking forward to a ME MMO, but nowadays I suppose I prefer them to keep going with single player games. Just wish they didn't have such vague communication but then that's BW for you.
They stated in interviews that ME:A would be a complete story but this open ended would belie that. The dlc will really have to deliver to make that happen. It's certainly possible they are planning some big dlc's.
At the same time I guess the underlying thought is that if this is a one-off story...what's next for Mass Effect as a franchise?

They aren't seriously turning it mmo?
Tell me thats speculation pleaseeee
The way MMOs form and die these days - they might as well kiss the frachise goodbye if it goes MMO.
I know that would be me out. So sick of MMO's and the mindset of forced grouping, raiding etc that goes with them. Mass Effect and Dragon Age are the two golden lights of my single player gaming world.

Uhh yeah, sorry. That is total speculation. I have zero knowledge of any plans to put this in MMO format and I also would like it to stay away from the MMO genre.

I don't think Andromeda is bugy! For example: It have about 200 sidequest and for me only 8 or 10 have been bugy. That's ok.
I finished the game with 98 %. And now: I'm waiting for a DLC. Till this I'm playing Mass Effect 1 again ... ok, I'm not playing: I'm fighting with ME3Explorer to put some Mods in. 🤐
If they take Mass Effect to MMO ... it would be horrible. I play and love MMO's but the Mass Effect world is NOT for it. Please NO! 😮

That's about my experience too. Very few minor tasks that cannot be cleared up. If something bigger glitched (has happened maybe 3-4 time throughout 2 playthroughs) for example an architect froze mid combat on Eladeen, loading an earlier save fixed the issue every time. Zero crashes for me also.
Animation sillyness aside...
NG+ I have not touched as that is reportedly a bit more broken. Then again propably won't do that anyway as it really doesn't offer much (maxxed out skills, meh).
