No trilogy also means that they could leave it open ended and they could just keep coming out with sequels.

They could do that anyway so long as they don't pull an ME3 ending that basically closed the doors on that happening in the milky way.
Like go for an actual video game ending of an epic battle, not blue, green, red.
Ryders could get a trilogy in androomeda leading up to some big battle. Next could also be in andromeda with diff chars etc.
Could have happened in Me3 if we got to actually fight win against the reapers and not pull some crucible thing.

i just hope they're not too lazy too pull that off... though i do hope they'd prove me wrong, or at least try.
