I can't launch Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition

I'm currently trying to launch Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe Edition through both Origin and Steam. Neither of those things have worked. I even tried using the desktop shortcut. That didn't work either. Whenever I try to launch the game, Origin just refreshes itself. After that happens, it takes me to "My Home". "Mass Effect 3" shows up under "Recent Games". Underneath "Mass Effect 3", it says "Install", whenever I attempt to install the game, it just says "Finalizing" for a second and then it just goes back to saying "Install". I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Origin, as well as the Steam copy of "Mass Effect 3", but those things haven't worked. If anybody has a way for me to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hey @PSYCH0SIS312,

Sorry to hear you're having issues launching Mass Effect 3. Do you own the game on both Steam and Origin?

Please create a DxDiag in text file format and post it with your next reply. You can do that  with the "Choose file" button at the bottom right corner of the reply window.

  • I actually managed to get the game to launch, however, I've run into another issue. I know that I have all the DLC downloaded, but for some reason I can't access all of it. Both "From Ashes", and "Omega" are having this issue. The thing is, I remember beating Omega, and I got Javik very early in my playthrough. When I go to where it says "Extra Content", it says under the "From Ashes" DLC: "You have this content available through Steam. Download it on Steam to add it to your game". It also says this under "Omega" as well. If I try to download my Steam version of the game, then I won't even be able to play it. The issue I mentioned previously, where it was stuck on "Finalizing...Installing" only stopped when I uninstalled the Steam version. So if I download the Steam version I can't even play the game. However, that's what Origin is telling me to do in order to get the DLC working. Again, I know for a fact that I had this DLC at some point, A) Because I already paid for it, and B) Like I said previously, I already got Javik added to my party, and beat the Omega campaign. If there is a way to access the DLC, that I rightfully own, without downloading the Steam version I would appreciate it if someone could tell me a way to do that.

    Thank you

@PSYCH0SIS312 Unfortunately this does look like a reinstall may be needed.

While you do have Omega/From Ashes it looks like these are indeed the Steam versions of them, and you must've been playing the Steam version when you completed them before. There doesn't seem to be any interoperability between versions, so to play all the content you'll want to download everything via Steam.

For getting back to your initial issue, once you remove all installed content, you can try clearing your Origin and Steam caches before trying to download on Steam.
