Try gold solo with a bronze gun 🙂

Or dont change the armor you start from the beginning with, maybe go full old school and dont augment your weapons. Tweaking your gear makes it easy/easier. Story mode never meant to be super difficult anyway.
Though my ME3 MP experience - countless gold and lots of platinum matches made singleplayer insanity look like a childrens playground.

I always thought how awesome it would be to add a legendary hardcore mode for the ME trilogy.
Just 1 (auto) save, dead is dead (= new game).
Let's see how many Shepards make it to the bitter end 😇

Don't really need an actual setting for that. Just choose to do so.

Very comparable ... and very achievement friendly ... 🤔
Naa, I would like to see a full story mode like described.
But back to OP, insanity is much less challenging than in other shooters I know, but then again is ME really a shooter? Not for me.
Depending on the different character classes there are some challenging encounters on insanity.
But for the whole ME: trilogy it would have been nice to have an insanity+ with additional enemy spawns.
I am reluctant to say decrease player damage further or increase enemy weapon damage (e.g in ME:3 mp gold/platinum it just felt off). tbh, I'm actually having a time of it with my Insanity run. started a new character after I finished my first play thru. Didn't start a NG+ run (posted a question asking about how NG+ works already but at the time I started the new toon, didn't understand how it worked) but rather I made a brand new toon and put it on Insanity difficulty. Got to Eos and the "ambush" at Site 1 and this is where my troubles begin. The best attempt for me was that I can get the mobs down to 2 left and then I die. (it's not even the fiend that's killing me, it's the kett) After about 2 hours of doing this ambush over and over and over, I gave up ...for now.
I'm guessing that Insanity plays out differently if you're running a NG+ due to the stuff that carries over??

I think it is agreeable to add an insanity+ instead of tweaking the current one. There are always different skills of players.
I think of myself as an casual gamer and much too old with mediocre hand/eye coordination abilities and I found insanity in ME trilogy a bit too easy.
Basically once you carry over weapons or levels (like in ME, no idea how exactly it works in Andromeda single player) the next playthrough even on higher difficulties is usually easier.
Dhan shotgun with the right augments and class built around cloaking & charge makes insanity diff. easy.
Yup, I know of that there are some combinations that makes the game easy, but so far I have refused to use them. One combi shoots off huge damage whilst recharging shields everytime you shoot. There are some combi's that are overpowered and perhaps a mistake to have them in the game and honestly takes the fun away from the game(or perhaps creates a different type of fun when a player can run around the battlefield in "god-mode" feeling invincible stoking your ego as you go)... I sometimes see people use them then complain that insanity is too easy and wants developers to make it tougher. If it's too easy for you, challenge yourself and roleplay a pure adept with a pistol without augs.

Either you're all trolling.. lying or playing with maxed out chars.
Playing from Lv 1 on Insanity.. is not easy. That Rescuing Moshai v 3 Fiends.. that have more hitspoints than you can take down.. easy? Yeh right, cloud cookoo land if you reckon so. Only if you manage to get them jammed between the stairs to the top ledge.. and don't fire at them at all yourself, just let your 2 ai's fight them.
The main gameplay is fairly easy, stay in cover etc, pop out.. don't get flanked and so on. It's great fun then. Even the Preators or whatever the shielded bosses are, not so bad.
But some of the setpiece missions are insane. At the correct level. Once you're lv 50+ everythings easy. Running around with uber weapons etc.
