Issue Logging into ME3 Online

Hi,

I seem to be having a problem trying to login to ME3 online. When I try to login in-game or access the multiplayer menu I'm getting the message, "An online pass is required to access online features of the game." The issue has appeared very recently as the multiplayer was working fine only yesterday.

I've tried restarting Origin and my PC, and also the 'Repair Install' option for ME3 within Origin but had no success.

    ***ISSUE RESOLVED***

    So after following some pointers from the posters here I managed to finally get onto EA Live Chat by changing my country from United Kingdom to the United States in country selector at the bottom-right corner of the 'Contact Us' page here:

    https://help.ea.com/contact-us

    I selected my version of ME3 and 'Online Services' as the issue and was able to have the problem resolved after ~5 minutes on EA Live Chat.

    Thanks to all who contributed here, it's much appreciated 🙂

    yes goraththeelder i started posting here 1 month after you. I'm so new.

    also, this is a user based support forum. people come here for help when outside of normal business hours. in case YOU don't know what this forum is for, look at the top of your screen.

    It's my supposition that many new arrivals here have no idea what kind of place this is, and really want, and really need the Official Tech Support.  I have several stock "form letters" for use in situations that look like they are repeats and I re-use those.

    Not to worry, trying to help is never a bad thing. I just noticed that the reply function on this site doesn't automatically quote the previous person which is why it was unclear to me who the post was directed towards.

    yeah, sorry for the confusion.

    just to add another level, no need to wipe and reload, problem still exists.

    i'm trying ea help line now, i'll be trying bioware help line next.

    if either can fix the issue i'll post the steps needed.

    On 2 pages, no one had the idea to use the search function. Otherwise you might have come up with this among several other threads that all have the same topic "Online Pass"...

    It's only 2 pages due to the 3 of us posting back and forth.

    And just to finalize this, it is a problem in the code for the mass effect weekend challenge. Verified by ea and bioware.

    Neither tech line could fix my account. Maybe I'm special, but I doubt it.

    So again, we're boned until Monday.

    call1-866-543-5435 now so you can get a case number, that way you can get bumped to the front of the line on Monday.

    I have a feeling the "specialists" will be quite busy.

    Given that consoles are what that "pass" business is all about, and there is no way to distinhguish among the search's results, I would suspect that the majority of hits would be threads about console platforms. 

    I've re-phrased the name of this thread here in my comment.  So far, I have not tested the AHQ search's multi-word criteria ability, nor whether Google's little spiders have been collecting search data in here that a directed search with that service might be able to use.  After three years plus of broken search over at BSN, I greatly prefer a professional function.

    Quite the contrary, non-functional Online Passes for PC are the majority - just looking at the first thread after doing a search for "Online Pass" at the top of this page gives a thread that is clearly for a PC Online Pass problem.

    The Online Pass becomes broken, quite frequently after weekend operations. This is far from new and has been happening for a while now. The only solution so far is to contact EA help (best bet is Twitter or Live Chat - set your country to US if it isn't available in your region) and get a new one. They can do it - I and countless others are proof of that.

    I'm just glad I'm the only one who scrubbed and reloaded before calling tech support.

    I guess I just have to watch paragon lost again while everything finishes downloading.

    And yes, it is a problem with the Cerberus network code that was used.

    Issuing a new one did not fix my problem, it may fix yours.

    This is definitely a back end issue with the weekend challenge updates.

    I played at least 3 rounds after completion before logging out, and I never hit the skip button on the ending score tally screen since the last time I hit exit quickly I lost all progress for the weekend.  (had to have bioware fix it that time)

    So I'm out of ideas as to what the common cause is. Hitting play, signing off.
